Another victory for the Philippines in the world of international beauty pageants. The Philippines continue to clinch crown after crown from all parts of the world. There are more international beauty pageants around the world where the Philippines compete to other parts of the world. And there are still other international pageants that are still piled up for the Philippines to participate. The Philippines is considered very hungry to win more international beauty titles where delegates will be competing for male pageants, female pageants, and transgender pageantry.

Jeslyn Santos is the latest beauty queen from the Philippines to win Miss United Continents 2016. The annual beauty pageant was held on September 24, 2016, in Guayaquil, Ecuador. Miss United Continents 2016 is the 4th edition that was held in Ecuador. Jeslyn Santos was correctly predicted by various pageant fanatics and critics because they saw her very much ready to compete and win an international crown for her country. Jeslyn is the first Filipina to win Miss United Continents since its debut in 2012 in Ecuador.

Jeslyn bested 28 contestants in Guayaquil, Ecuador to clinch the title as the new Miss United Continents winner of 2016 edition. She was crowned by Nathalia Paiva Lago who was the winner of Miss United Continents 2015 from Brazil. Jeslyn Santos is also the first Asian delegate to win the title in Guayaquil, Ecuador on September 24, 2016.

Prior to the coronation night, Jeslyn started gaining attention from various pageant fanatics groups from all over the world. Most beauty pageant analysts said that they came to Ecuador very prepared, which easily made her the eventual winner of the 4th edition of Miss United Continents. Her skills in catwalk, poise, confidence, and self-esteem were on the right track throughout the beauty pageant competition. These are the qualities of the beauty queen that should not be ignored by the judges and other pageant contestants.

During the coronation night, Jeslyn Santos is expected to leave Ecuador on September 26, 2016, and will return back to the Philippines. She will be attending several media interviews and press presentations before going back to her home country, the Philippines. She is excited to return home while carrying the most awaited gift, which is the crown, the sash, and a pageant achievement that every contestant dream about it. The pride for bringing home the crown is a priceless gem for Jeslyn because of her outstanding performance in Miss United Continents 2016.

Jeslyn was regarded as front-runners in the competition. She perfectly graced both the swimsuit and the gown competition during the coronation night. Little did Ecuadorians know that Jeslyn knows how to speak in Spanish. Her answer captured the hearts of Ecuadorians as well as the Latino community of South America.

The question for her is "How would you unite the continents?" She answered unexpectedly in Spanish. "Somos uno si actuamos y pensamos como uno. No debemos tratarnos mutuamente como extranos y competidores, sino como hermanos. Aunque grandes oceanos y tierras nos separen el amor siempre now unira"

As translated in the English language: We are one if we act and think as one. Therefore, we should not treat each other as strangers and competitors but as brothers and sisters. Although great oceans and land divide us. Love always unites us. Thank You, Ecuador.

Ecuadorian audiences immediately cheered for Jeslyn's answer and were amazed on how she used her mind by nailing the annual international beauty pageant.

Ecuadorians never thought that a candidate from Asia can speak Spanish fluently. As based on the history, the Philippines were once colonized by Spain for 300 years. The Tagalog language is considered as broken Spanish because there are numerous Spanish words that are incorporated. Some examples are Kumusta or hello, Mundo or world, and para or stop.

Filipinos also adopted Spanish surnames. One example is the surname of Jeslyn, which is Santos. This is similar to the names of Ecuadorian people and other parts of Latin America.

There are still many more international pageants where the Philippines sent their delegates. The win of Jeslyn Santos is the 13th international crown for the Philippines just this year from several international beauty pageants.
