Former Philippine Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago is currently confined in a private room of St. Luke's Global in Taguig City. She is now undergoing treatment to further cure her lung cancer disease that has been affecting her health since 2014 before running for the President of the Philippines this year. Miriam's family, friends, and relatives hope that Miriam's prognosis improves for the next days after her recent treatment and will be discharged in the health facility in Taguig City where she was previously confined.
Contrasting to other news, Miriam Defensor-Santiago is not admitted in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) that was previously reported to the public earlier by other sources to the public. This was the confirmation of Mechel Santiago, which is the daughter-in-law of the Filipina politician. In addition to Mechel's statement, she is thanking the public for respecting their family's privacy in the meantime. The family of Miriam will soon provide an update with regards to her condition after her therapy session at St. Lukes Global in Taguig City.
