A Filipino soldier cries foul for being racially discriminated in a Kalibo, Aklan

An active duty Filipino soldier reported a racial discrimination in Kalibo, Aklan province. The incident happened on January 1st of 2016 when the victim was allegedly refused to avail a VIP lounge and check-in to an Airport Lounge at Discovery Boracay by the Filipina staff and the South Korean owner. The soldier was disgusted about the situation and eventually reported to the local police. 
 
Even if you are dressed as a simple civilian, no one can still have the right to use derogatory remarks basing your race or ethnicity. This person has made numerous praise due to his bravery and perseverance to fight for his right as a human being. His experience from the hotel is a lesson to other individuals not to allow themselves from being abused by foreigners just because of their socio-economic lifestyle, race, or identity.

Ryan Layug, from San Carlos, Pangasinan posted his anguish online using his personal Facebook profile under his pseudo name, <a href="https://www.facebook.com/jay.delgado.336" target="_blank">Phoenix Rising</a>. The most intriguing part of the story was when the South Korean supervisor babbled in front of him, stating that "No Filipinos! No Filipinos". It was hitting his heart twice with a dagger. He was dismayed for the Filipina lady employee who follows racist practices of her boss in order to retain her source of livelihood. Basing from his timeline, he stated his post that "please share/repost my personal experience of discrimination. For the love of humanity". 
 
The soldier was waiting for his flight bound to Cebu at 5 am the next day. While killing time, he decided to proceed to Discover Boracay to spend his remaining waiting time. But he did not expect what will happen next that can significantly change his mindset regarding some foreigners who treated Filipinos differently in their homeland. 
 
Ryan Layug is now deeply agonized by the situation where he is requesting the public to share his post and photos online from his Facebook account. When the supervisor realized his offensive remarks against the Filipino soldier, he attempted to bribe him by offering free stay and free food. However, Ryan stuck to his brave principle by refusing the offer and slowly search for another place to ease his disappointments from the incident.

Even if he forgive the racist remark made by the South Korean, the pain and suffering brought about by the discrimination incident caused a psychological impact to his emotional health. 
 
As a brave soldier, he strongly advocates in democracy. He is just concerned about the public outcry due to the incident that involved his reputation being tarnished by a foreign national who is currently managing an establishment. 
 
He is also requesting for all local government agencies who might provide a thorough investigation to the incident to conclude the case. 
 
Discrimination against Filipinos in their own country is not a rare situation because each year, there are several reports of similar cases being documented by local government units, police departments, and non-government organizations as based from their documented reports. 
 
To conclude his statement, he ended with "if you love your race and your country, the Philippines and is against discrimination, share the post in your wall".

His assignment was to take good pictures and videos of Burj Khalifa fireworks display on New Year's eve. As soon as he arrived on the 48th floor, he then proceeded to the balcony to prepare his media paraphernalia in order to take good pictures for the media network publication the next day. 
 
Dennis was suggested by the company as part of his job to proceed to Address Downtown hotel in Dubai. It is a 63 storey skyscraper that sits parallel to Burj Khalifa, the tallest existing structure in the world. Burj Khalifa is annually being held to host fireworks display Dubai, carving another interesting tourism boost of the city to the world each year. The experience for Dennis was nerve wrecking because he risked his life and barely made it alive. 
 
However, there are several issues that every structure must have to comprehend. This is all about the fire safety hazards that can always impact the safety of every worker or individual who are currently at the place where a certain incident happens. There are individuals who can immediately escape from the hazard zone; however, there are also some who are not lucky enough to perish because they are trapped in an area where there is an ongoing hazard that is now going to threaten their lives during that day.

However, he noticed that there was a smoke, billowing near the corner that signifies that something went wrong on to the building. Dennis panicked as he searched for a safer area for him to escape. He then decided to cling on to the exterior portion of the balcony in order to cling for his life as the smoke is now approaching his location. 
 
He began praying. However, he was not convinced that that night will be his time. He contacted his friends by posting his current situation through the social media network. Dennis continuous to post his situation minute by minute. 
 
After few minutes, rescue personnel were able to locate him and moved him to safely. He then took a photo of himself while being administered with oxygen inhalation in order to stabilize his respiratory system because he inhaled some of the harmful chemicals emitted by the smoke. 
 
After being saved, he was thankful for the belt, cable wire, civil defense, friends, and to the Lord.

An effigy is a material that is made to represent a certain individual. Effigy burning is normal in Colombia because it is one of their traditional practice for driving away bad luck. In the picture and the video, Colombians mostly created an effigy of Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach while wearing the iconic blue gown. And then moments after waiting for the darkness in the night, most pageant fanatics started to set the effigy of Pia on fire. 
 
Steve Harvey was not also safe as Colombians created an effigy for him. Obviously this was due to his terrible mistake for calling out the wrong winner of the pageant. Colombians were absolutely disappointed for a simple mistake that was made by Steve Harvey for the reason that it created an international uproar by the Colombian pageants. It is not clear if the person is just doing it on purpose because as based from his environment, it seems that he is torching the figure while welcoming New Year as part of a tradition every year. 
 
The man is later identified as Noider Almanza Barazza who was responsible for torching the figure that represents Pia Wurtzbach. He hails from Baranquilla, Colombia. 
 
The footage is now going viral over the internet and it is now creating another noise in the Philippines. Fans are now considering the incident as shameful not only against the reigning Miss Universe but also to the whole Philippine nation.

Colombians were clearly disappointed by the fate of Ariadna Gutierrez. Many Ariadna's countrymen still believe that the announcement was rigged and should be investigated. Even other Latin American countries prefer Ariadna over Pia due to the terrible mistake committed by the host of the pageant night. 
 
However, Ariadna Gutierrez made a recent statement that she is already moving on from the controversial incident. She is satisfied to make it as a first runner-up, which is a very difficult thing to do for every candidate that competes internationally.

Rare fire in Dubai: Torch Tower in Dubai was also engulfed by flames during the start of the 2016 New Year annual celebration. Every country around the world considers New Year as one of the most important events in their lives. Annually, friends, relatives, and families organize a simple gathering in order to welcome New Year together. This is the time of the year wherein they welcome a new life with a bang. Each household organizes a party where patrons are welcome to visit and spend their quality time with their hosts. 
 
Several countries organized their fireworks display. However, there is a country that naturally celebrates its own style in order to greet the year with a big bang. Manila has been recorded to have the most unique way of celebrating New Year on the eve of December 31 each year. But there are other cities across the Philippines that has similar campaign every New Year's eve.

Supermarkets and wet markets are very thankful because the purchasing power of the community will be the highest during New Year.
