A Filipino soldier cries foul for being racially discriminated in a Kalibo, Aklan

An active duty Filipino soldier reported a racial discrimination in Kalibo, Aklan province. The incident happened on January 1st of 2016 when the victim was allegedly refused to avail a VIP lounge and check-in to an Airport Lounge at Discovery Boracay by the Filipina staff and the South Korean owner. The soldier was disgusted about the situation and eventually reported to the local police. 
 
Even if you are dressed as a simple civilian, no one can still have the right to use derogatory remarks basing your race or ethnicity. This person has made numerous praise due to his bravery and perseverance to fight for his right as a human being. His experience from the hotel is a lesson to other individuals not to allow themselves from being abused by foreigners just because of their socio-economic lifestyle, race, or identity.

Ryan Layug, from San Carlos, Pangasinan posted his anguish online using his personal Facebook profile under his pseudo name, <a href="https://www.facebook.com/jay.delgado.336" target="_blank">Phoenix Rising</a>. The most intriguing part of the story was when the South Korean supervisor babbled in front of him, stating that "No Filipinos! No Filipinos". It was hitting his heart twice with a dagger. He was dismayed for the Filipina lady employee who follows racist practices of her boss in order to retain her source of livelihood. Basing from his timeline, he stated his post that "please share/repost my personal experience of discrimination. For the love of humanity". 
 
The soldier was waiting for his flight bound to Cebu at 5 am the next day. While killing time, he decided to proceed to Discover Boracay to spend his remaining waiting time. But he did not expect what will happen next that can significantly change his mindset regarding some foreigners who treated Filipinos differently in their homeland. 
 
Ryan Layug is now deeply agonized by the situation where he is requesting the public to share his post and photos online from his Facebook account. When the supervisor realized his offensive remarks against the Filipino soldier, he attempted to bribe him by offering free stay and free food. However, Ryan stuck to his brave principle by refusing the offer and slowly search for another place to ease his disappointments from the incident.

Even if he forgive the racist remark made by the South Korean, the pain and suffering brought about by the discrimination incident caused a psychological impact to his emotional health. 
 
As a brave soldier, he strongly advocates in democracy. He is just concerned about the public outcry due to the incident that involved his reputation being tarnished by a foreign national who is currently managing an establishment. 
 
He is also requesting for all local government agencies who might provide a thorough investigation to the incident to conclude the case. 
 
Discrimination against Filipinos in their own country is not a rare situation because each year, there are several reports of similar cases being documented by local government units, police departments, and non-government organizations as based from their documented reports. 
 
To conclude his statement, he ended with "if you love your race and your country, the Philippines and is against discrimination, share the post in your wall".

His assignment was to take good pictures and videos of Burj Khalifa fireworks display on New Year's eve. As soon as he arrived on the 48th floor, he then proceeded to the balcony to prepare his media paraphernalia in order to take good pictures for the media network publication the next day. 
 
Dennis was suggested by the company as part of his job to proceed to Address Downtown hotel in Dubai. It is a 63 storey skyscraper that sits parallel to Burj Khalifa, the tallest existing structure in the world. Burj Khalifa is annually being held to host fireworks display Dubai, carving another interesting tourism boost of the city to the world each year. The experience for Dennis was nerve wrecking because he risked his life and barely made it alive. 
 
However, there are several issues that every structure must have to comprehend. This is all about the fire safety hazards that can always impact the safety of every worker or individual who are currently at the place where a certain incident happens. There are individuals who can immediately escape from the hazard zone; however, there are also some who are not lucky enough to perish because they are trapped in an area where there is an ongoing hazard that is now going to threaten their lives during that day.

However, he noticed that there was a smoke, billowing near the corner that signifies that something went wrong on to the building. Dennis panicked as he searched for a safer area for him to escape. He then decided to cling on to the exterior portion of the balcony in order to cling for his life as the smoke is now approaching his location. 
 
He began praying. However, he was not convinced that that night will be his time. He contacted his friends by posting his current situation through the social media network. Dennis continuous to post his situation minute by minute. 
 
After few minutes, rescue personnel were able to locate him and moved him to safely. He then took a photo of himself while being administered with oxygen inhalation in order to stabilize his respiratory system because he inhaled some of the harmful chemicals emitted by the smoke. 
 
After being saved, he was thankful for the belt, cable wire, civil defense, friends, and to the Lord.

Colombians believe that by torching an effigy will drive away bad luck, which was considered as a traumatic thing in their lives. Ariadna Gutierrez's humiliation by Miss Universe 2015 host Steve Harvey deeply caused a psychological impact to the Colombian fans, lamenting that they were treated unfairly. This was because after placing the crown to the head of Ariadna, she was suddenly stripped down after a few minutes. The mistake was unacceptable because it caused an international uproar. An effigy is a material that is made to represent a certain individual. Effigy burning is normal in Colombia because it is one of their traditional practice for driving away bad luck. In the picture and the video, Colombians mostly created an effigy of Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach while wearing the iconic blue gown. And then moments after waiting for the darkness in the night, most pageant fanatics started to set the effigy of Pia on fire. 
 
Steve Harvey was not also safe as Colombians created an effigy for him. Obviously this was due to his terrible mistake for calling out the wrong winner of the pageant. Colombians were absolutely disappointed for a simple mistake that was made by Steve Harvey for the reason that it created an international uproar by the Colombian pageants. It is very hurtful to them that their representative was humiliated in front of millions of crowd, creating an emotional outburst. Other Latin candidates supported Ariadna in order to provide an empathy and emotional support for her.

It is not clear if the person is just doing it on purpose because as based from his environment, it seems that he is torching the figure while welcoming New Year as part of a tradition every year. 
 
The man is later identified as Noider Almanza Barazza who was responsible for torching the figure that represents Pia Wurtzbach. He hails from Baranquilla, Colombia. 
 
The footage is now going viral over the internet and it is now creating another noise in the Philippines. Fans are now considering the incident as shameful not only against the reigning Miss Universe but also to the whole Philippine nation.

Colombians were clearly disappointed by the fate of Ariadna Gutierrez. Many Ariadna's countrymen still believe that the announcement was rigged and should be investigated. Even other Latin American countries prefer Ariadna over Pia due to the terrible mistake committed by the host of the pageant night.

How to prevent fire hazards? 
 
1. Immediately contain it with water, sand, or any fire stopper: If the fire is still considered to be containable, you should use a pail of water so that it will immediately control the fire. She finally stated that she is extremely happy and satisfied being a first runner-up because it is a rare opportunity for a candidate to go that far even if they are close to getting the crown. However, the announcement mix-up was the most humiliating experience that she encountered, facing millions or even billions of viewers and fans from around the world that made her feel significantly dismayed.

The conclusion of Miss Universe 2015 was held in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States of America on December 20, 2015. Steve Harvey made a mistake for announcing the wrong winner. After initially announcing that Colombia is Miss Universe 2015, the elimination card clearly indicated that Miss Philippines is the rightful winner. A few minutes after announcing the wrong winner, the Miss Universe host returned back to the stage and corrected his mistake. He re-announced that Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez is the first runner-up while Miss Philippines Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach is the actual winner of the event that irked Colombian supporters as well as other countries in Latin American countries. 
 
Never apologized 
 
Ariadna Gutierrez is deeply saddened because Steve Harvey never approached her to offer personal apology. After all what have had happened to her, she should have felt more at ease if Steve Harvey immediately approached her to say sorry for the announcement mix up. It made the experience more hurtful and created a more agonizing pain because words of apology could have been a key factor for relieving her stressful experience. 
 
Miss Colombia Universe 2015 who is now Miss Universe 2015 first runner-up thought that Steve Harvey was just joking. However, she realized that Steve is actually telling the truth. She stated that she is just a woman with a weak heart who was easily hurt by the wrong announcement. She felt humilitated in front of the stage. There were no sensitivity that was applied in behalf of her personal integrity that affected her self-esteem.

After the pageant, Ariadna Gutierrez was seen crying. She stood in front with Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach who was then crowned as Miss Universe 2015. The Philippines generated a worldwide trend due to its dominating pageantry performances. Thanks to the country's delegates, who are always well-trained on how to become a standout with their respective international competitions. 
 
After garnering several crowns in 2015, the Philippines is set to collect another batch of crowns this 2016. Pageant contestants to various international pageants are now undergoing training in order to improve their stage presence, catwalk skills, and enhance their communication forte that essentially promote an efficient interpersonal communication with other individuals. On October 8, 2015, Philippines bet Ann Loraine Colis crowned as Miss Globe 2015 that was held at Toronto, Canada. Runner-ups were Albania, Macedonia, China, and France. 
 
Trixie Maristela won Miss International Queen that was concluded in Pattaya, Thailand. Miss Brazil was her first runner-up while Miss Thailand as the second runner-up. 
 
Cindy Pacia Maduma won Miss Scuba International 2015 title that was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The first runner-up was Miss Venezuela while Second runner-up was Miss USA. 
 
Angela Ong was voted by the judges as Miss Earth 2015, a major back to back win for the Philippines, which was crowned by Jamie Herrell who was Miss Earth 2014. The pageant was held in Vienna, Austria. Miss Earth Air was awarded to Australia, Miss Earth Water belonged to USA, and Miss Earth Fire was rewarded to Brazil. 
 
The mother of all pageants, Miss Universe 2015 crowned Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, who added another crown for the country for a total of three. The pageant was held in Las Vegas, Nevada on December 20, 2015. Colombia was announced as the first runner-up while Miss USA got the second runner-up spot. 
 
Before the year ended, Leren Mae Bautista won as Miss Tourism Queen of the Year International that was held in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia on December 31, 2015. Hilarie Parungao reached the top 10 spot during the Miss World 2015 pageant competition held in Sanya, China that was won by Spain under the name of Mereia Lalaguna on December 19, 2015. 
 
Janicel Lubina also reached top 10 spot during Miss International 2010 competition that was held in Tokyo, Japan on November 5, 2015. Miss Venezuela's Edymar Martinez was voted as the winner. 
 
Rogelie Catacutan placed as one of the top 20 quarterfinalists during the coronation night of Miss Supranational 2015. Stephania Stegman from Paraguay was concluded as the winner.
