The Philippines successfully hosted the 65th Miss Universe beauty pageant, the largest beauty pageant in the world. Iris Mittenaere from France won her country's second crown after she bested other 85 delegates. Maxine Medina from the Philippines made a top 6 finish after the coronation event of the beauty pageant. 
 
For the 66th edition of Miss Universe beauty pageant, Maxine Medina landed on top 6. In Miss World 2016, Catriona Gray landed on the final 5 spot. 6 Reasons why Vice President Leni Robredo declined to attend the 65th Miss Universe in SM MOA Arena

The Vice President of the Republic of the Philippines undoubtedly declined two VIP tickets for the 65th Miss Universe. Leni Robredo humbly declined the two VIP tickets that should have allowed her to watch the most prestigious international beauty pageant in the universe. She was offered by the Department of Tourism Secretary Wanda Teo, which was just days before the crowning event of Miss Universe. After the ticket was declined by her, the ticket was then offered to somebody else, which was also a public figure official of the Philippines. 
 
After declining the ticket, Leni Robredo opted to continue her responsibilities as the second highest public official of the Philippines. Maria Mika Maxine Medina is a Filipina beauty queen and a commercial model that is currently based in the Philippines. She is very happy that she crowned her successor in her home country and allowing the Miss Universe Organization, pageant fanatics, and the national directors of the participants to experience the hospitality of the Filipinos. Moreover, Pia Wurtzbach is also happy to be back in the Philippines after living in New York City for more than a year. 
 
Miss Universe Organization in association with IMG/WME is thankful for the person who made the pageant a success and memorable not only for the Philippines but to the whole universe as well. Former Ilocos Sur Governor Chavit Singson was responsible for acting as the events manager by investing at least more than $14 million in USD to host the Miss Universe in the Philippines. Chavit Singson provided several buses, a yacht, and a plane to assist the delegates including the staff of Miss Universe Organization by traveling across the archipelago for a scheduled event. This makes the 65th edition of Miss Universe as the most traveled edition than any other editions of Miss Universe. The next edition of Miss Universe has yet to announce the venue where the pageant will be held to allow Iris Mittinaere to crown her successor.

If any case that the newly crowned Miss Universe fails to fulfill her duties and responsibilities, the first runner-up will take over. As a Miss Universe winner, the new queen should embody herself as the role model for the younger generation. A winner with a diva attitude could be at risk for losing her title because having a bad attitude could demoralize the integrity of Miss Universe Organization as well as the IMG/WME. The first runner-up will then assume the position to fulfill the duties and responsibilities as Miss Universe. 
 
The Philippines expects a surge with the number of tourists coming in to the country to watch the pageant. Foreign tourists opted to stay for more days in order to experience the tropical paradise of the country by visiting several tourist spots. More tourists would mean that the Philippine could benefit from the revenues being spent by foreign tourists. Even some other candidates opted to stay in the country to experience more hospitality given by the Filipinos whoever visits the country as a memorable experience.
