Rolando Espinosa surrendered to Philippine National Police Chief Ronaldo Dela Rosa On August 2, 2016. However, Kerwin did not surrender to the police and was still at large until today. Mayor Rolando Espinosa was then ordered to vacate the White House in Camp Crame and then confined himself in a hospital in Cebu.<br />

Kerwin Espinosa reportedly departed to a foreign land last month. The younger Espinosa seems to be aware that he will be the next target due to his aggressive trading of illegal substances in Eastern Visayas region. HPG Police Officer Jeremiah De Villa tagged in John Dela Riarte's death commits suicide

Highway Patrol Group (HPG) Police Officer 3 Jeremiah De Villa jumped off from the 3rd floor of Philippine National Police Security and Protection Group headquarters located in Camp Crame. The Policeman eventually succumbed to his injuries and was declared dead at around 9:45 in the morning on Saturday, August 27, 2016. The policeman did not show any signs that he would commit such as grave decision as a way to temporarily get away from the reality. This is a sad fate for every person who had been suffering from several ungrateful consequences that affected their personal and professional career.<br />
<br />
Police Officer Jeremiah De Villa was one of the two suspects who were involved in the killing of motorcyclist John Dela Riarte. De Villa was under the custody of Philippine National Police in Camp Crame while awaiting a trial as well as administrative charges. PO3 De Villa was placed under a restrictive custody under PBP Highway Patrol Group's headquarters. Officials and other police officers monitoring PO3 De Villa were shocked to find out his unexpected decision to exempt himself from a pending case by just jumping off from a building.<br />

The other who was under restrictive supervision is Police Officer 2 Jonjie Manon-og that was also accused due to committing a grave misconduct against John Dela Riarte. PO2 Manon-og will now face the charges alone since De Villa is no longer around to be with him during trials to their cases. De Villa's case will now escalate the pressure towards Manon-og to face charges by the PNP and the victim alone.<br />

De Villa and Manon-og was tagged in the killing of motorcycle incident when Dela Riarte attempted to snatch their firearms and use it against them. Both police officers indicated that the motorcyclist previously attempted to steal their firearms. Dela Riarte was seen intoxicated due to the influence of alcohol responsible for being uncooperative with the police. He was seen resisting arrest due to an altered behavioral response affected by the intoxication, making it difficult for the police officers to apprehend him along the road.<br />

The two police officers took Dela Riarte to police custody and he was seen being handcuffed. Inside the custody, Dela Riarte was then killed inside the police station. Upon investigation, there were conflicting statements verbalized as well as written by De Villa and Monon-og. Amateur photos and videos reveal that the actual footage conflicts their statements. The PNP HPG then apprehended them to face administrative and legal charges. In addition, the two police officers are also facing criminal charges filed by the kin of John Dela Riarte.<br />

PNP HPG claimed that former PO3 De Villa's death was not a product of a foul-play. It was clear that he intentionally went to the top of the building and then decided to jump off from the building. PNP-HPG Chief Superintendent Antonio Gardiola Jr. acted as the spokesperson regarding PO 3 De Villa's case. Gardiola then indicated that De Villa was deeply affected in the case that he and Manon-og are facing right now.<br />

HPG Police Officers De Villa and Manon-og's case were highlighted when numerous videos and photos surfaced on the internet. The case of Dela Riarte also caught the attention of Commission on Human Rights, aggravating the criminal charges against the two police officers.<br />

Immediate families and friends of Patrick James were able to gain at least 100,000 pesos, which is way below the demanded ransom in exchange for the freedom of the captive.<br />

However, on August 24, 2016, a severed head was found and then recovered by the authorities in Kadjatian, Indanan, Sulu. Western Mindanao command spokesperson Major Filemon Tan Jr., stated that the head was believed to be the teenage captive of the Abu Sayyaf, which was recovered at 7:40 in the evening. The severed head is suspected by the authorities belonging to the young teenage boy that was the captive of the terror group. Authorities forwarded the head to the crime laboratory for further examination.<br />

On August 22, 2016, September Paz, a nurse working in Saint Lukes Medical Center in Quezon City was killed in an apparent burglary from his apartment. Paz was sleeping when she heard that there was a suspicious movement that has been rattling her own place during the night. The sleeping nurse became uncomfortable with the locomotion that has been disturbing her sleep inside her apartment. So she decided to check on it and then possibly contain it to prevent her from being disturbed from her sleep at her own place.<br />

Upon checking, she was shocked to find out that there was someone who was trying to steal her things inside her home. Out of shock, she immediately cried for help in order to seek for attention to nearby apartments by screaming. However, the burglar was quick enough to shut September from creating any noise that would potentially attract attention to other dwellers from the nearest apartments and buildings. The burglar prevented nurse September reach out her neighbors. This is because she was already physically overpowered by the burglar inside her place.<br />

He began to stab September's body multiple times until she succumbed to her death due to complications of a severe bleeding. The suspect ran away from the crime scene after performing a horrific act that he will never forget. <br />

Quezon City Police District personnel soon arrived on the scene and declared the victim dead as her body is lying on the floor covered in blood. A necrological service was performed to the body of the victim and then brought to the crime laboratory for an autopsy. Police personnel secured the area for further investigation to collect essential information that will help solve September's brutal case inside her apartment. After the autopsy, it was found out that September had 19 stab wounds all over her body. <br />

The family and relatives of September Paz were informed about the shocking fate of the young woman by the police. In Sarrat, Ilocos Norte, the immediate family of September cries for justice for the death of their family member under the hands of a brutal suspect. Several members of the family went to Quezon City to coordinate with the authorities and to retrieve the body of September from the crime laboratory.<br />

Saint Lukes Metical Center was shocked to know that one of their personnel had been brutally murdered. What struck the staff was that the incident happened inside the apartment of their staff while she was sleeping in preparation for her hospital duty the next day.<br />

On August 24, 2016, authorities announced that the suspect is now under their custody. The suspect was identified as Jeffrey Guarin, a 22-year-old male suspect responsible for the death of September Paz. Jeffrey voluntarily surrendered to the barangay hall that was later surrendered to the police authorities.<br />
<br />
During the time of the incident, Jeffrey was under the influence of alcohol. He attended a drinking spree together with his peers. Out of intoxication, he then tripped September's property by entering her apartment and began stealing her personal items. Guarin immediately neutralized September when she was awakened by his noisy activity inside her apartment.<br />
<br />
Upon investigation, Jeffrey Guarin tested positive for using an illegal substance. Mandatory drug testing is applied for all suspects who were involved in a grave criminal activity that was part of Duterte's war against the possession, manufacturing, and trading of illegal substances.<br />
<br />
Guarin is also suspected for being under the influence of illegal substances when he carried out a grave misconduct against September Paz.
