The late president Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has been protested by several political groups, personalities, and organizations against his burial in the Libingan ng mga Bayani (Hero's Burial Cemetery). They are protesting against the decision of Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte's decision to finally laid the president to his resting place. Since Duterte's approval, continuous protests were organized by various leftists and activists and appealing for the reverse in the decision to bury the late president of the Philippines. Protesters against the burial of Marcos was organized on August 14, 2016, despite torrential rains affecting the whole country.

But things are slowly shifting towards the former pet dog of the late President Cory Aquino. Her pet dog was given a full military honors during burial in 1982. During the time of the former president's pet burial, no one managed to file a complaint during this time. And now, people realizes that there is a reason to file a protest against the burial of the president's dog. This is because it has just been recently they realized that a pet or animal can be buried in the cemetery with the initiation of the former president's pet dog that received full military honors.
The Libingan ng mga Bayani
The late President Cory Aquino ruled the country after winning a snap election in 1986, ending the dictatorship of Ferdinand Marcos. She led the Philippines for at least six years until 1992. She was succeeded by former president Fidel V. Ramos who also ruled the country from 1992 to 1998.

Critics are just wondering how a pet dog managed to be buried in the Heroe's burial without any protesters when it was given a full military honor. And now, supporters and some members of the Aquino clan and administration are now organizing protests against the burial of former president Ferdinand Marcos Jr. Supporters might not have been aware regarding the burial of former president's pet dog who received a rare military honor inside the Heroe's burial place in Manila.

President Marcos has been protested against the decision of the current Duterte's administration to handed him a proper burial at the Heroe's burial place. Protesters indicate that Marcos was a dictator, who made a large-scale misery to the Philippines during his 20-year rule in the country. Human Rights were significantly violated due to his implementation of Martial Law. There were missing personalities who were never found as well as activists against the Marcos administration who were executed by the members of the military and police force.

According to the law, there are several reasons why a person should have the right to be buried in the "Libingan ng mga Bayani". These are the following:
  • If a person is an awardee of Medal of Valor
  • Commanders of the State
  • President of the country
  • National Defense Secretary
  • Police Chief of Army Chief
  • Philippine Revolution veterans of 1898
  • Government dignitaries
  • National artists
These are the bases why Duterte decided to bury former president Ferdinand Marcos in the Heroe's burial place. Despite controversies, he believes that his approval would end the conflicts between the Marcoses and the Aquinos. 

However, it was not clear how a certain pet was allowed to be buried in the Heroe's burial place with full military honors. Investigations are now ongoing whether there will be another legal ruling with regards to the burial of a pet inside the Heroe's burial, especially that the pet was given a full military honor. 
Here is the question made by the supporters of Duterte as well as Marcoses. So if dogs were allowed to be buried at the Heroe's burial place, why they bar a former president to be buried? 

Former Philippine president Ferdinand Marcos is set to be buried on September 18, 2016. This is already final according to President Rodrigo Duterte. Protesters are free to organize their rally, provided that they should respect road traffic. Protesters should also respect the environment by not leaving any trash during or after they made their rally.

In any case that a pet dog or animal was responsible for defending any Filipino countrymen during the times of war, conflict, there is a possibility that the pet will be given a military honor. 

The camp of Aquino's representatives has yet to release a statement regarding this particular issue about the burial of their former pet.
