Ecuador is a country located in the western portion of the South American continent. The situation of Ecuador has an active seismological activity. This is the reason why Ecuador is one of the few countries in the world that experiences numerous earthquakes, volcanoes, and tsunamis. The reason behind is that the country is situated at the edge of plates, which continues to move from one place to another, generating a high amount of energy force that produces seismic activity such as earthquakes and tsunamis.

As seen from the photo, Pia Wurtzbach is with several members of both local and international relief organizations. This is in cooperation by several government agencies in Ecuador who continuous to provide relief efforts in order to reach out victims of the devastating earthquake across the country. Some members of the elite forces were lucky enough to get a rare glimpse up close and personal with the most beautiful woman in the universe.
Several Ecuadorian agencies took the opportunity to maximize Pia's presence to participate on numerous events, advocacies, and humanitarian efforts. This is because Pia's visit is a rare occurence for such a beauty queen to take the opportunity exploring Ecuador together with its people and several agencies. As an ambassadress of Miss Universe Organization, Pia Wurtzbach aims to inspire the young Ecuadorean generation by being a role model to improve their confidence, becoming a productive citizens, and become future generation of beauty queens in the country.
As a courtesy call, it is a duty of the Miss Universe Organization to send its ambassadress to any country affected by the worst hit areas of natural disasters. These include earthquakes, tsunami, landslides, and massive flooding that can damage a significant number of infrastructures, wiping out population, and destroying the socio-economic integrity of the affected areas.

With Pia's gorgeous aura while entertaining several government agencies, leaders, victims of earthquake, and other crowds, Ecuadoreans were more amazed how approchable she is. She doesn't mind being with the crowd in every event, parades, and humanitarian efforts that she partake while she is at Ecuador.
Even if the country mostly speaks Spanish, she is now learning more about the culture of Ecuador and is thankful to be blessed with the warm welcome by several leaders, entertainers, and citizens who wants to take a glimpse of her while she is at the country for a short period of time.
The 2016 Ecuador earthquake is a massive earthquake that ocured in the South American country. Epicenter of the quake was located at least 29 kilometer from the towns of Pedernales and Muisine and 170 kilometers from the capital city of Quito in Ecuador.
The Manabi province in the northwestern part of the country was badly hit by the strong earthquake. The incident caused a widespread damage to infrastructures, homes, and ecosystems in the region.
There were at least 661 people who perished during the incident while there were at least 27,732 individuals who were also reportedly injured.
Ecuadorean President Rafael Correa announced a national state of emergency in order to deploy at least more than 13,500 military personnel including thousand members of police personnel to conduct rescue and relif efforts to the affected area.
Ecuador lies beside the Pacific Ring of Fire located on the eastern portion of the Pacific Ocean. The location of the country lies just the edge of the South American Plate, Nazca Plate, and the Pacific Plate, which is an active geological zone.
As a country located in a highly geological hazards, it often experiences earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and occasional tsunami occurences from time to time.
